Amnesty International has now come out with two reports on such action, in which such action has been opposed. Bulldozers run on 128 properties between April and June 2022

Amnesty International has made two reports named ‘Bulldozer Injustice in India’ and ‘Role and Responsibility of JCB in Bulldozer Injustice in India’. It has been said in these reports that between April and June 2022, bulldozing action took place on about 128 properties. Amnesty says that due to this action at least 617 people have been made homeless and their livelihoods have been ruined.

‘Victims of bulldozer action should get appropriate compensation’

Through these reports, Amnesty International has asked the Indian authorities to immediately stop the illegal demolition of property belonging to the Muslim community. In these reports, Amnesty has told about illegal demolition of houses and religious places of people of minority community in different states. Describing such action as extra-judicial punishment, the report also talks about giving necessary compensation to the victims. According to the report, most of the victims are from the Muslim community.

These five states are mentioned in the report of bulldozer action

It has been told in the report that Assam, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi are the five states where discriminatory policy of the government has been seen against the Muslim community after religious violence and demonstrations and here vandalism of property has been used as punishment. Has been done. In these states, politicians are terming such action as bulldozer justice. BJP is in government in four out of these five states. Agnes Callamard, Secretary General of Amnesty International, says that such actions are ruining families and must be stopped immediately.

16th century mosque demolished in Prayagraj, also demolished in Barabanki

According to Amnesty report, last year more than 300 properties of Muslim community people were demolished in the outskirts of Delhi. In the year 2021, a 100 year old mosque was demolished in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh. In 2023, the 16th century mosque located in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh was demolished.

Publicly condemn the use of JCB machines.

In the second report, Amnesty has mentioned bulldozer manufacturing company JCB, whose machines have been used for bulldozer action in India. On this, the report says that bulldozer has become a symbol of oppression of Muslim community in India. Along with this, Amnesty has also asked JCB to come out publicly and condemn the use of the machines manufactured by them for human rights violations.
